About Stainless Steel 316L + DLC Black instead of Titanium + DLC Black

Why we finally chose Stainless Steel 316L + DLC Black instead of Titanium + DLC Black?

Experience the precision and craftsmanship of the Numeno Spinner Ring. Featuring a micro-bearing system, this ultra-thin ring spins smoothly and effortlessly, providing a satisfying tactile rotation. Perfect for focus, mindfulness, and fidget enjoyment. Watch how every detail is designed for balance, comfort, and durability.

1. More stable rotation

Stainless steel 316L is about twice as dense as titanium, giving the ring a higher rotational inertia. This makes it spin more smoothly and steadily.

2. Better bearing durability

Although titanium alloy has higher strength, stainless steel 316L has slightly higher surface hardness, which improves bearing wear resistance and extends the life of the micro-bearing system.

3.Optimized spinning experience

We found that titanium can create slight friction in the bearing, whereas stainless steel 316L ensures the beads roll smoothly for an ideal spinning feel.

4.No difference in appearance, better performance

Both materials look almost identical, but stainless steel 316L delivers superior smoothness and durability.

Price difference

The price difference between the black version and regular stainless steel 316L is mainly due to the DLC surface finishing process, not the raw material. For rings weighing 5–8 grams each, the material cost difference is almost negligible—most of the cost comes from processing and surface treatment.

Compensation

We sincerely apologize for not notifying everyone earlier. As a token of appreciation, every backer who pledged for a titanium ring will receive an extra regular titanium ring (same size, non-spinner).. Thank you for your understanding and support!

We are committed to delivering the best spinning experience and sincerely thank all our backers for their patience.

Looking ahead, our next-generation rings will feature tungsten alloy, a material with high hardness and density that can significantly improve spinning performance. However, it is extremely challenging to machine, and we are actively researching and developing the process to make it possible.
